TEFL TESOL Course Canada - Montreal

Teach English in Montreal, Canada Montreal is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec and the second-largest city in Canada. Montreal was the largest city in Canada up until the 1970s, when it was surpassed in size by Toronto. Originally called Ville-Marie ('City of Mary'), some historians think the city takes its present name from Mount Royal, the three-headed hill at the heart of the city, whose name was also initially given to the island on which the city is located, or Mont Réal as it was spelled in Middle French. The city is beautifully situated on an island where three rivers flow together: the mighty St. Lawrence, the Rivière des Prairies and the Ottawa.

Montreal is the second-largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris, by number of native speakers.

French is only one of 35 or so languages you will hear on the streets of this international city of 1.6 million inhabitants (more than 3.6 million if you include the suburban neighborhoods). Demographics show that Montreal residents come from 80 countries, forming an urban mosaic of vibrant ethnic communities and neighborhoods safe to walk in day or night.

Montréal caters to all kinds of travellers specially those who love fashion, arts and style. The town is full of boutique hotels, designer stores and an incredible cuisine with roots from the culinary hub of the world, France. Its different neighborhoods which include Old Montréal with its beautiful Notre Dame de Montréal Basilica, Downtown Montréal with its ultra-modern design buildings, Hochelaga-Maissoneuve, Plateau Mont-Royal, Mount Royal and “La Ville Souterraine” or Underground City; offer you almost the unimaginable.

The TESOL International training centre in Montréal is located in a refurbished office block that has retained its 1922 façade and interior. It is a heritage-listed building located in the heart of Montréal. The location is a short 5-10 min. walk from 2 subway stations and just a 20-minute ride by subway from downtown Montreal. The school is located next to two other college campuses and is a short walk away from Decarie Street that has recently been completely revamped. On Decarie Street you will find little cozy restaurants serving cuisines from all corners of the world.
