TEFL TESOL Course Granada -Spain

Discover the past and enjoy the present. This can be witnessed everywhere in its architecture and rich cultural history kept alive with passion; the tasty cuisine; the resonating sound of Flamenco music played into the night; the blending of Islam and Christianity.

Historically, Granada is the last redoubt of the Moorish Kingdom in Western Europe. The world famous Alhambra and the Genera life are examples of the splendour of this civilisation.

It was in Granada in 1492 that Christopher Columbus received the support he needed and a Charter from Queen Isabela to seek a new route to India which ended up with the discovery of the Americas!

In the shadow of the Cathedral, the resting place of the Catholic monarchs, Isabela and Ferdinand, you can visit the Medina, the Moroccan market of shops and tetarías (tea shops) set in a maze of narrow alleyways.

Or, visit the unique Sacromonté ‘gipsy barrio’, heart of the “Flamenco puro”, enjoy a different people with their passion for music and dance, and see their cave houses.

Granada has an exceptional geography, a magical valley, midway between the warm sea and the high mountains: 45 minutes by car from Mediterranean beaches, 75 minutes from Malaga, and 30 minutes from the Sierra Nevada ski resort at a height of 3,400 metres (11,050ft).

Experience the soul of Spain in Andalucía: the Pasos of Semana Santa – Easter week – depicting the Passion of Christ, first created for a medieval audience.

A Paso: huge and heavy statues of Christ, Saints and the Virgin Mary, carried on the shoulders of Costaleros, that process from the many churches around Granada, through the streets and into the Cathedral, then back to their home church (some take 14 hours!).

Our Granada TEFL training centre is located in the Albayzin, the famous Arabic quarter facing the Alhambra, surrounded by plazas; cobbled, narrow, traffic-free streets; fountains, and white-washed walled houses. The Albayzin is the site of the famous "Carmens and Casas of Granada" – traditional Arabic houses with beautiful cool patios, peaceful secret gardens and inspiring ancient architecture.

The TEFL training centre is in a beautiful Carmen property with a number of classrooms, a computer centre, WiFi Internet, a laser printer/copier; plentiful training resources, and a coffee shop with a wonderful garden.

The school is close to the modern centre of Granada, about a five to ten minute walk down into the city centre and ten to fifteen minutes back up to the school. If you’re feeling less energetic, buses run a regular round trip. There are plenty of shops, café, restaurants, and bars in the centre.

The team of highly qualified trainers at  the Granada centre is directed by Vincent Antony. Antony began training people in Mexico’s Guadalajara University in 1988 and is a visiting professor at the University of Granada. His mission is "to produce teachers who can really teach".
